Expedia launches the Expedia Group Academy today. The new free education program is designed to help displaced persons or vacationers expand their skills, build professional networks and open up career opportunities as the industry picks up the path to recovery from the effects of the COVID-19 crisis.

The Expedia Group Academy offers online learning modules that are themed by month and are led by industry and subject matter experts and executives of the Expedia Group. Modules include webinars, online training courses, activity guides, and downloadable resources. Travel industry employees can sign up for the Expedia Group Academy Here. The upcoming course schedule includes:

  • July: Professional Development: The learning journey begins with three steps in developing interpersonal skills, including building personal branding, managing online reputation, and preparing for interviews. The information is provided by Blair Taylor, PwC Director and Co-Head of Diversity & Inclusion Consulting.
  • August: Industry Overview: To build on interpersonal skills, industry experts will join the Expedia Group Academy for insights into the different sectors of the travel industry, ranging from lodging, air travel and cruise, and giving attendees an understanding of each sector.
  • September: Business Skills Improvement: Participants develop skills in areas of high demand such as data and analytics, financial planning, sales training, and marketing. All materials are presented with a lens for the travel industry.
  • October: Leadership Basics: The last module focuses on transformative and goal-oriented leadership with training on effective coaching, integrative leadership and stakeholder management.

The main goal of the Expedia Group Academy is to provide attendees with knowledge, networks and resources to support their return to the travel industry workforce. Upon completion of each monthly module, participants will unlock exclusive opportunities that will better equip them for their next job opportunity.
