The travel restrictions of the Bailiwick of Guernsey were further relaxed.

Unvaccinated visitors from the Common Travel Area (CTA) – the UK, Ireland, Jersey and the Isle of Man – no longer need to self-isolate upon arrival.

However, passengers are still asked to: a. to be filled out Travel tracker, external to register their trip prior to arrival, the Covid reaction chiefs said.

The use of lateral flow tests for incoming travelers from the CTA should also end on October 20, confirmed Guernsey’s President of the Policy and Resources Committee.

Coronavirus response manager Richard Evans said the changes had meant people could move around more freely, but precautions were still needed.

He said, “We have what is called a customer care team that answers people’s questions, but we also have people at the border.

“We still need the welcome team to do the review of the travel tracker.

“We really appreciate that things are changing, but travel will still be very different.”

With the suspension of the lateral flow tests, travelers no longer have to leave the CTA Acquire and complete a course of five lateral flow tests, external for 25 €.

Peter Ferbrache, Head of Policy and Resources, said the changes are about getting back to normal, not least because “we are getting so many visitors from the UK”.

He added, “Also, the vaccination program has been such a wonderful achievement that it would not be proportionate to continue these restrictions.”
