Do you think traveling is only for two-legged friends? Think again

From hotels with free pet stays and helpful blogs with useful travel tips and packing lists for four-legged travelers to popular attractions with air-conditioned kennels and on-site pet sitters in hotels, traveling with your pet has never been easier.

From popular chain hotels to independent boutique hotels, it’s easy to find properties that offer pet accommodation of all price ranges.

Room service meals for your pet? Check. Playgrounds especially for dogs? You bet. Welcome check-in bags with chew toys, comfy beds, and dishes are standard at some resorts, and in-room maintenance can often be arranged. Dog-friendly beaches, animal boutiques, and restaurants in popular travel destinations are also big.

And traveling with pets isn’t just for cats and dogs. Some properties now welcome a wide variety of pets of all sizes. Just call before making your booking – always good practice as pet policies and facilities may vary by location.

Red Roof Inn Plus

In the United States, the Red Roof Inn Plus offers pets free nights. Her doggy blog, written by mascot Mac, has a comprehensive and printable pet packing checklist to rival your own, as well as a list of the dos and don’ts when traveling with your pet. Dogs must not be left alone in the room, however, and it is recommended that you take your puppy for a walk while cleaning staff is present. They also accept cats.

In a true pet-friendly attitude, Mac’s blog features a “Donate” button, and the Mac Gives Back program supports a different community for pets in need each month. Animal lovers are invited to share the love on social media by using #MacGivesBack. They are also asked to suggest local causes of pets by posting a message on the RedRoofLuvsPets Facebook page.
