Bounce Luggage storage carried out a study to find the cheapest place to stay. It analyzed prices for Airbnb listings and hotels in top US destinations, from Asheville and Nashville to Waikiki and Wyoming.

The data collected by Kayak examined the booking costs over two weeks in October to determine the average price for an overnight stay in a double room. For Airbnb data, Bounce looked at the average cost of accommodation for a room for two adults for a weekend in October 2021. The company then compared those average prices and found the percentage saved by choosing a hotel over an Airbnb.
