CHICAGO (AP) _ Hyatt Hotels Corp. (H) reported a loss of $ 203 million in the fourth quarter on Wednesday after posting a profit in the same period last year.

The Chicago-based company said it posted a loss of $ 2 per share. The one-time cost-adjusted losses were $ 1.77 per share.

The results fell short of Wall Street’s expectations. The average estimate by nine analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was a loss of $ 1.36 per share.

The hotel operator generated revenue of $ 424 million in the reporting period, which also fell short of Street’s forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $ 453.6 million.

For the year, the company reported a loss of $ 703 million, or $ 6.93 per share, which resulted in a loss for the period. The turnover was given with 2.07 billion US dollars.

Hyatt Hotels shares are up roughly 6% since the start of the year. In the last few minutes of trading on Wednesday, stocks hit $ 78.44, down 12% over the past 12 months.
