Journey inexperienced record: The locations with probably the most 5 star resort availability

Boris Johnson announced last week which nations made the coveted green holiday list, which means vacationers will not need to be quarantined on their return to the UK should they travel there this summer.

As many of us are interested in leaving after more than a year, the hotel booking platform Hoo has analyzed which destinations on the green list offer the best opportunities for luxury, based on the availability of five-star hotels in each capital.

In terms of sheer volume of five-star hotels, Australia tops the list with up to 56 hotels available for would-be vacationers.

Singapore also ranks high with 54, while Portugal has the most five-star hotels in the vicinity with 34.

Israel was the second highest tier of five-star accommodation at 13, with New Zealand (6), Brunei (2), Iceland (2) and Gibraltar (1) offering leaner options.

What about the price?

Based on a seven-day stay in mid-August, Hoo also analyzed the average hotel room price per night.

New Zealand was at the top of five-star affordability at just £ 138 a night, while Iceland was also among the more affordable at £ 162 a night.

Gibraltar came third at £ 168 a night, followed by Portugal (£ 184), Brunei (£ 184), Australia (193) and Singapore (261). At £ 300 a night, Israel is by far the most expensive destination for a five-star hotel stay and the only green list destination to break the £ 300 a night threshold.

“Britain’s vacationers can be forgiven for feeling a bit discouraged at last week’s Green List announcement, with only a handful of Green List destinations that do not require long-haul flights,” said Adrian Murdock, co-founder of Huhu.

As a result, it looks like Portugal is likely to be a very popular summer sun-seeker destination unless we see more nations switch from the amber to the green list in the coming months, Murdock added.
