Of the 275 Texas hotels listed in the latest US News report, 87 are in North Texas.

DALLAS – Over 4,600 American hotels were rated for the US News & World Report’s annual Best Hotels Report. 275 are in Texas, nearly 90 are from Dallas-Fort Worth.

Hotels across the country, including DFW, have been hit hard since the pandemic began. After the shuttering last March, the industry was rocked with one Wave of layoffs.

In the third quarter of 2020 The utilization of the DFW decreased by almost 27 percentage points compared to the third quarter of 2019. At 38.2 percent, the region had the lowest occupancy rate of all major metropolises in the country. In terms of revenue per available room, DFWs were $ 33.28 last fall – a decrease of more than $ 37 from 2019. As 2020 begins, hotel owners are hoping 2021 won’t catch up.

Only luxury hotels and resorts with at least 20 rooms were included in the report. US News defines luxury as a hotel that consistently receives four stars and more. In 2019, hotels with recent awards or 3.5-star hotels were added to some markets. US News calculated a hotel rating based on the hotel’s previous awards and recognitions, hotel rating, and guest ratings.

# 9 – Omni Fort Worth Hotel

In the center of town is the Omni Fort Worth Hotel – US News ranked the hotel # 37 in Texas.

The 407-room Adolphus Hotel was ranked 23rd among the top hotels in Texas and 487th nationwide. The 22-story tower was built in 1912 and modeled after a Germanic castle.
