(WFSB) – Car experts keep coming out with new technology to make drivers’ next trip safer.

Here is the Morning Business Report for March 22nd.

Smart technology

There is a smart tire technology in which tire manufacturers add special sensors to certain tires.

The sensors can detect the driver when the tires are underinflated and worn.

Or they could warn them of a nail in the tread that will cause the tire pressure warning light to come on in a few days. You could even help them drive better, stop earlier, and get better mileage.

At this point in time, they are mainly used for very expensive performance tires.

Set sail

Cruise ships plan to sail again this summer.

Tired of waiting for the CDC, at least three main lines have found an alternate route.

The latest announcements came from Royal Caribbean International, which will sail a ship from Nassau, Bahamas, to Cozumel, Mexico, as well as sister-line celebrity cruises that will explore the South Caribbean routes from St. Maarten.

More cruise lines are expected to follow suit in the coming days and weeks with similar announcements.

No more cheap flights

The era of dirt cheap flights is coming to an end as more Americans take to the skies.

The cheapest domestic leisure airfare, including the promotional fares airlines send to customers’ inboxes, stood at $ 59.48 on March 15, still 26 percent lower than a similar week in 2019, but by more than, according to Harrell Associates 6 percent over the week.

Exchange update

The Dow fell on Friday.

Banks sold out on the threat of higher interest rates and how that could slow spending.
