LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – On average, hotel prices have largely rebounded from their 2020 lows and are now at pre-pandemic rates.

But there are big differences from city to city. Especially when comparing prices in vacation towns like ours and those that rely heavily on business travelers.

In the major vacation cities of Miami, Las Vegas and Orlando, prices are back to pre-pandemic levels, according to Willis Orlando, Scott’s Cheap Flights said.

Scott’s Cheap Flights’s Willis Orlando tracks everything from airfare to hotel and rental car prices.

According to global hospitality data and analysis, hotels across the country are less crowded than they were in 2019. As a result, some markets are offering lower rates.

Orlando says you can get the best value for money in major cities that rely heavily on business travel.

Prices in New York, Washington DC, and San Francisco are still very low. If you’re planning on taking a break, the lowest in San Francisco is currently 40% lower than it was in 2019.

Chicago, Minneapolis, and Seattle also see hotel rates about 10% cheaper. Analysts assume that this will be the trend of the future.

Prices in the vacation markets like here in Las Vegas are likely to drop a bit, but Orlando says it really all depends on the business traveler what happens in the other markets.
