Last week, Royal Caribbean added a new pre-cruise test requirement for all guests two years and older sailing on cruises five nights or more.

This meant that all guests had to present a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test result, which was taken on board the ship no later than three days prior to the cruise. The cruise line is now expanding this test protocol to include other cruises.

Starting with Royal Caribbean cruises departing August 12, this pre-cruise requirement applies to all cruises departing from US ports, regardless of length. This is valid until the end of August and is subject to change, including an extension.

Royal Caribbean said they made this change because of the increase in the Delta variant in local communities.

The pre-cruise test is required for all vaccinated and unvaccinated guests aged two and over.
