Sabah achieves a vaccination rate of 70% and allows cross-state travel from November 1, 2021

Cross-county travel within the state is now allowed provided individuals are fully vaccinated; People aged 12 to 18 have received at least one dose of vaccine, and children under 12 are accompanied by fully vaccinated parents.

In a recent statement dated October 13, 2021, the government of Sabah state expressed their satisfaction with the committee’s report on the percentage of vaccinations as the figure exceeded 70%.

As a result, nationwide travel for the following groups will be allowed from October 14, 2021:

  1. People were fully vaccinated;
  2. Adolescents aged 12 to 18 who have received at least one dose of vaccine;
  3. Children under 12 accompanied by fully vaccinated parents.

The state government has also agreed to allow travel between states from November 1, 2021. Entry into Sabah, including social visits and tourism, is permitted provided that:

  1. People were fully vaccinated;
  2. Travelers undergo a COVID-19 RT-PCR or RTK-Ag test (swab / saliva) within three days of departure;
  3. Adolescents aged 12 to 18 have received at least one dose of vaccine;
  4. Children under the age of 12 are accompanied by fully vaccinated parents.
