TYNGSBORO, Massachusetts – Monday at the Skate 3 Ice Arena turned into point night for St. John’s Prep as the Eagles overtook Bishop Guertin 7-0.

SJP improved to 3-1 that season. Aside from a 5-3 setback against BC High in the Pete Frates Christmas Classic, Kristian Hanson’s team have outdone their opponents 19-2 in the other three games.

There wasn’t much to learn from the team’s easy win, but I liked a few things. SJP showed a lot of good habits, played with details and did not take off shifts, even if it would have been easy against an inferior opponent. The Eagles crossed the finish line at the net, played right through to kick-off and remained largely disciplined. There were lots of good puck moves and selfless games.
