“You will have one more item on your pre-screening checklist. But the reward is being able to visit some of the most famous tourist destinations with a fraction of the summer crowds, ”said Scott Keyes, author of Take More Vacations and founder of price tracking website Scott’s Cheap Flights. To help you find your way around while traveling in the pandemic era, here are some apps and websites that can help streamline the process.

Check out the CDC’s Covid-19 advisories for your travel destination. Before you fly, it is a good idea to review the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s instructions Instructions per country to travel. Create digital scans. For many travel destinations you need a paper copy of your vaccination card as proof of vaccination to enter the region. My upcoming flight to Germany from California, via

accepts the printed map or a digital copy of it. Either way, it’s a good idea to keep a digital backup.

If you have an iPhone, you can use the Notes app’s built-in document scanner. Create a new note, tap the camera icon and choose Scan Documents. Name the note “Covid-19 Vaccine Card” so that it is easy to locate. You can also pin the note to stay at the top of the screen by tapping the three dots in the right corner.

Microsoft Lens, free on both iOS and Android, is a scanning app that can digitize printed or handwritten text.

Walgreens

Patients can access a copy of their vaccination records on the company’s website. If you were vaccinated on

or Sam’s Club, you can download Clear health passport (free, iOS and Android) to access your digital recordings. You must agree to share your vaccination history using the app from the Walmart website. If you lose your ID, contact your state’s Vaccination Information System (IIS). United’s mobile app has a new section called the Travel-Ready Center where flyers can upload vaccine or test records. The documents are verified via the app and travelers are immediately approved for check-in.

Find vaccination centers for re-entry. The US currently requires all incoming travelers on international flights who are 2 years of age or older to present a negative Covid-19 testeven if vaccinated. Google Maps lists official test centers in many metropolitan areas; Search for “Covid-19 Tests Near Me” to see results. Delta sells home ($ 50) Covid-19 antigen tests on its Ellume website that can report results to a paired smartphone and the US Meet reporting requirements.
