The government has decided to give priority to vaccinating 280,000 workers in the tourism sector. according to Tourism Minister Harry Theocharis.
Speaking at the plenary session of Parliament, he said that tourism workers will be vaccinated immediately after receiving their shocks from vulnerable groups.
However, he indicated that the start time will depend on the flow of vaccines in the country.
“The vaccination of tourism workers is determined,” he replied in parliament to a question from a member of the Movement for Change.
“It will begin when the vaccination of the most vulnerable people is complete,” continued the minister.
In any case, we have often done testing for those who have not been vaccinated, but vaccination will be a three week process, ”Theocharis said.
Theocharis also emphasized that the key message for promoting tourism is that “the whole country is safe”.
