Istanbul: Turkey, in coordination with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of Health and the Turkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) has started the full vaccination of tourism workers.

The vaccination program includes the employees of the airlines, airports, accommodations, travel agencies as well as the professional tour guides.

The vaccination of all tourism staff will be completed before the start of the 2021 summer season. As part of the Safe Tourism Certification Program, the vaccination program aims to welcome international travelers for the upcoming summer season and to ensure the health and safety of tourism workers and their residents.

Turkey said since the start of the Safe Tourism Certification Program in June 2020, Turkey has followed strict health and safety guidelines and taken all necessary steps to ensure it continues to be safe.

Before the start of the season, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism began to involve tourism workers in the vaccination program to ensure that the country’s tourism services remain open year round.

The vaccination program is meticulously carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Health. The tourism worker vaccination program was launched in line with the priorities and within the framework of the Safe Tourism Certification Program.

As part of its continued efforts to fight COVID-19 and further strengthen its position as one of the world’s safest travel destinations, Turkey continues to invest in the “Safe Tourism Certification Program” which is one of the first and most successful examples in the world Field, it said in a press release.

The country has expanded the scope of the practice and mandated the accommodation of accommodations with 30 or more rooms. To date, more than 8,000 facilities have been certified.

As the country expects a V-shaped recovery in tourist travel, priority is given to the tourist workforce when it comes to vaccination. It is taking all measures to ensure that it remains a healthy and safe tourist destination in 2021 and is a top option as a safe travel option for international travelers.
