AC Hotel Washington DC Capitol Hill Navy Yard, featuring an Ellis Adams Group-designed restaurant and bar with views across the US Capitol Building, is due to open imminently.

Set to become AC Hotels’ third operating property in the city, this scheme will place guests between the Capitol Hill neighborhood, the waterfront Navy Yard district and the iconic National Mall.

The brand’s signature hospitality concept

The new AC Hotel Washington DC Capitol Hill Navy Yard is owned and managed by Concord Hospitality Enterprises, Whitman Peterson and Greystar Real Estate Investments. It promises to bring the intuitive and timeless European-inspired travel experience that this brand is known to a third location in the US capital.

“We are excited to open the newest AC Hotel in Capitol Hill,” said newly appointed general manager Hisham Ahmed. “I am proud to continue onward momentum in the community and bring innovation and European-inspired hospitality to the neighborhood.

“With bountiful access to the city’s popular attractions nearby, we are very eager to welcome travelers back to the nation’s capital.”

As general manager, Ahmed will draw on 24 years of experience in hospitality management and operations. He’ll be joined at the property by newly appointed director of sales and marketing Rodrigo Arandia.

A vibrant social hub

This exciting property will introduce guests to the energy of Capitol Hill and the stadiums and restaurants of the Southwest Waterfront and Navy Yard neighborhoods. Nearby attractions include The Wharf and Smithsonian museums.

Travelers are to be accommodated across 225 guestrooms, available in a variety of configurations, spanning 11 storeys. Each room will come with sleek modern furnishings and AC signature amenities such as Korres bath products, while some offer private balconies and Capitol views too.

AC Hotels’ latest outpost will include an AC Lounge, a 24-hour fitness center, 3,000 sq ft of meeting space with floor-to-ceiling windows and complimentary wifi.

An Ellis Adams Group-designed rooftop restaurant and bar, Smoke & Mirrors, will top the hotel and showcase the culinary creations of executive chef Raymond Melendez. This venue, which overlooks the US Capitol Building, can accommodate up to 200 people indoors and 150 in the outdoor area.

The hotel is easily accessible from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, Washington Dulles International Airport and Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.

AC Hotel Washington DC Capitol Hill Navy Yard is scheduled to open on 3 February 2022.
