A very disappointing 13-17 over 30 games, the New York Knicks desperately need a shot in the arm in the form of extra talent and taking on a player like Sabonis could be just the kind of move they need.

Hit fit with Julius Randle may be a bit tricky, but Randle overshots 38.9 percent over the past two campaigns, so the former Kentucky star could be a good shot at making a front-court pairing with the more color-bound Sabonis feasible.

To land Sabonis, the curtsey could go in different directions.

When they are ready to sacrifice the boys and talents RJ Barrett, whose numbers have declined a bit this season, New York Barrett can either pack up Kemba Walker or Alec Burks to make a deal financially feasible, and add a first round selection to sweeten the pot.

If the Knicks don’t want to lose Barrett, they can offer Obi Toppin, Mitchell Robinson and either Walker or Burks to make a deal work, along with the lower-level draft capital.

Either way, Sabonis and Randle could be a terrifying duo and help the Knicks get back to the center of the heated playoff race in the east.
