W.ith the COVID-19 vaccination finally getting into the arms of many people, people are doubling their travel plans. The uncertainties of 2020 brought a year 2021 full of hope and, above all, wanderlust. After you’ve spent most of a year in our pajamas and enjoyed take-out on the couch, it’s time to really vacation, experience a new culture, check out a new website, or stay in pajamas – but with a much better view. Travel destinations, from the world’s best beaches to hidden mountain slopes and booming cities, are all on the table.
Here are five new hotel openings that make us even more excited to travel the world again.
Thompson Austin will feature three dining concepts, an infinity pool and an entertainment deck when it opens this fall.

The Thompson brand that recently brought its luxury hotels to Dallas and San Antonio, is now preparing to showcase its edgy, sophisticated design in the heart of downtown Austin. With 212 guest rooms slated to open this fall (you can book a reservation now for stays after November 15th), this boutique hotel will no doubt be a trendy playground for Austin’s chicest set.
The space offers fine culinary concepts such as The Diner Bar and the Gray Market at street level. These are both run by James Beard-nominated partner chef Mashama Bailey and John Morisano, who opened The Gray in Savannah, Georgia. The fourth floor of the hotel will serve as an entertainment platform called Wax Myrtle’s Club, which will feature a one-of-a-kind restaurant, infinity pool, and play area to keep the bustling city alive.

Amanvari Eastern Cape

As for new hotel openings, this one is pretty exciting. Just breaking ground in the new Costa Palmas development on the Eastern Cape of Los Cabos, this is a largely pristine, 1000 acre, pristine, quiet property right on the beach. The famous Aman hotel brand – with luxury locations around the world – is known for its 6-star service and ultra-luxurious accommodations. Amanvari East Cape is slated to open in 2024.
This hotel and resort features waterfront villas, its immaculate signature spa and world-class restaurants. As a premiere for the legendary brand, this Amanvari location will also offer residences. In addition to the newly opened Four Seasons Los Cabos, Amanvari will also offer its own beach section in Baja.
Head to Saint Lucia next year to check out the new Cabot Saint Lucia Resort, complete with golf course, restaurants and spa.

A boutique resort by the sea and residences of the founders will soon be built on a 375 hectare peninsula on the northern tip of St. Lucia Cabot Cape Breton in Canada. Co-founded by the “Godfather of Golf” Mike Keizer and Ben Cowan-Dewar, Cabot St. Lucia Development will be a unique luxury addition to paradise in 2022.
Residents and guests have exclusive access to the best of amenities, including three restaurants (a Caribbean-style beachfront restaurant, Sundowner’s Point cocktail bar, and Cabot Point Clubhouse Restaurant and Bar), the world-class Cabot Spa, and of course, award-winning golf course. And if you’re not a golfer, the sports complex also has tennis and pickleball courts, basketball courts, beach volleyball, baseball bats, and more.
The St. Regis Los Cabos in Quivira is a stunning resort that will open in Fall 2022.

To mark the arrival of the St. Regis brand in Los Cabos, Mexico, The St. Regis Los Cabos will open in the luxury resort community of Quivira in autumn 2022. The 120-room hotel will feature a spa overlooking the hills, a 1,200-foot beach, access to the award-winning Quivira Golf Club, and three dining concepts (a signature restaurant, an all-day dining venue, and a beach club and grill).
There will be seven resort pools, including a separate kids’ pool and an adults-only pool. The area is also home to more than 32 km of hiking and biking trails, as well as nature reserves for nature lovers. The St. Regis Butler Service, a trademark of the brand, offers ironing service, beverage service, unpacking service and more.
Elk Run Lodge is the newest addition to the Snake River Sporting Club in Wyoming.

The renowned Snake River Sports Club (twenty minutes from Jackson, Wyoming) just announced exciting new additions to the existing luxury resort and shared apartment. In addition to the houses on the property that can be rented or owned, the development will now house the Elk Run Lodge – the groundbreaking ceremony this spring.
This 30-room luxury hotel offers a full-service spa, fitness and wellness program, plus access to the resort’s clubhouse, dining options, award-winning golf course, and the outdoor activities and adventures that make the property so popular.
