The project was launched yesterday by BD Kalla, Minister of Arts and Culture, on the lawn of the Secretariat in the city. Speaking to the media, the minister said that the project would give a new dynamic to night tourism in the city Rajasthan.

“It will be a new experience for tourists and add depth to the state as a tourist destination,” said Kalla. The art department also took possession of the telescope that had long been with the state science department.

Mugdha Sinha, secretary of the Department of Arts and Culture, said the Rajasthan government took the initiative to start night tourism after the COVID-19 lockdown. Interested travelers can now visit Jaipur and observe the night sky, stars, moon and other planets.

Places selected for Jaipur’s astro tourism


There are two places where sightseeing sessions are held:

Jawhar Kala Kendra: Jawahar Kala Kendra (JKK) is a famous arts center built by the government of Rajasthan. The main purpose of building this center was the preservation of handicrafts in Rajasthan. The center has eight blocks and houses museums, an amphitheater and an auditorium, a library, exhibition rooms, a cafeteria, hostel and studio. The center also has two permanent art galleries and three other galleries that are constantly changing. A theater every year festival is also organized here.

Dinner mantar: To UNESCO world The Jantar Mantar heritage site in Jaipur is an astronomical observatory. The place was built by King Sawai Jai Singh II, the founder of Jaipur. This 18th century monument houses a collection of 19 fixed astronomical instruments.
