Cairo, Oct. 24 (Reuters) – Egypt has allowed hotels to stay at full capacity while maintaining strict coronavirus precautions, a tourism ministry official said Sunday.

Deputy Minister Abdel Fattah al-Asi told Reuters that the decision had already entered into force.

Egyptian hotels have had 70% capacity utilization since July due to COVID-19 regulations. Tourism accounts for up to 15% of Egypt’s national production and is an important source of foreign currency.
