Greece: India Hicks and David Flint Wood

Prince Charles’ goddaughter and Lord Louis Mountbatten’s granddaughter, designer India Hicks married David Flint Wood in her home village of Oxfordshire. After their intimate and relaxed wedding, the couple flew to Greece for a luxurious honeymoon. They began their journey by exploring ancient Greek ruins, and according to Hicks’ Instagram, they took an unusual approach when another couple attended their honeymoon and hosted the newlyweds on their boat for the week. The couples cruised around various islands in Greece, many of which were off the beaten track. They’ve done everything from climbing the hills of Folegandros to the monastery, swimming through the Milos Caves and sailing around the lowest tip of the Cyclades.

Seychelles: Prince William and Kate Middleton

After their wedding in Westminster Abbey, Prince William and Kate Middleton flew to one of the most remote islands in the world on a private jet. The couple are reported to have honeymooned in the Seychelles, where they stayed at the exclusive luxury private island resort north island. The resort has only 11 villas, and the couple stayed in theirs for 10 days, sunning themselves in the Indian Ocean and doing so in complete privacy. The villa included a freshwater pool, private garden, personal chef and butler. India: King Jigme Khesar and Queen Jetsun Pema

When King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of Bhutan married Jetsun Pema in 2001, their royal wedding was one of the most watched events in the history of the Kingdom of Bhutan. It’s fitting that the couple indulged in an epic nine-day honeymoon adventure across India. The newlyweds embarked on a luxury train tour of Rajasthan, stopping at Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur. Sources say that a specially customized carriage section was added to the train just for them. The luxurious train suite has been designed with a dining room, a bedroom and a fully equipped kitchen.

Tanzania: Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary

After the lavish wedding of Frederik, Crown Prince of Denmark, and Mary Donaldson took place in Copenhagen Cathedral, they relaxed on a three-week honeymoon in Tanzania, Africa. Namibia: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

One of Britain’s most famous royal couples, Prince Harry and Meghan Marle, have postponed their post-nuptial honeymoon, but when they finally left, they got it right. The couple stayed in luxury Hoanib Valley Camp, an intimate retreat with just six villas. Of course, as with any other safari-oriented honeymoon, the main activities they took part in were wildlife viewing to see giraffes, elephants and rhinos on their lodge grounds; game drives; nature walks; rhino tracking; and more. This goal is dear to Harry, who takes his African conservation efforts seriously. The property they stayed at is a “joint venture between the local communities and the Giraffe Conservation Foundation, the world’s only pan-African giraffe conservation organization,” according to the website. Prince Carl Philip of Sweden and model Sofia Hellqvist embarked on a luxury island getaway just hours after their late night wedding reception in the chapel of Stockholm’s Royal Palace. Galapagos Islands: Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier III
