Watching a safety video on a cruise ship is the same as on an airplane. You have to see it, you have no choice. Of course, you can lie on your bed at the same time, but it’s playing on the TV and you have no control over the channel or the off button.

The Princess Cruises video is a parody of the TV show The Love Boat (which in itself was almost a parody). The show ran from 1977 to 1986, with each episode full of innuendos and one-liners that you couldn’t get away with on television these days.

All of the drama, heat, and passion were put on board a cruise ship called the Pacific Princess, which is now nothing but junk.

But the cruise line behind it, Princess Cruises, has a unique opportunity to keep The Love Boat’s legacy alive.
