QUEENSBURY – Warren County Sheriff’s investigators say they arrested a Hudson Falls man in connection with a robbery and attempted robbery at two hotels.

At around 9:47 p.m. on Wednesday, MPs received a report of a robbery at the Courtyard Marriott, Canada Street, Lake George. The man walked into the hotel, asked the front desk for money, and then fled. There was no gun report report, no injuries, and the suspect took a small amount of money from the employee, investigators said.

Just before 11 p.m. that night, the sheriff’s office received another 911 call about an attempted robbery at the Baymont Inn and Suites on Abbey Lane in Queensbury. A man demanded money from the front desk clerk. The clerk refused to give money and the suspect fled. No weapon was issued and no injuries were reported, authorities said.

Police collected surveillance videos, interviewed witnesses and investigated the area where the crimes were committed. Police said they could identify Kirby Lopez, 46, from Hudson Falls as a suspect in both cases. Lopez has been charged with a number of third degree robberies and a number of attempted robberies, both crimes. Following the indictment, he was released on parole until future court hearings.
