The hotels only accept asymptomatic patients or those with mild symptoms as directed by the hospital after a preliminary examination.
With the number of COVID-19 cases increasing every day, finding a bed for a COVID-19 patient in a hospital in Hyderabad is often a daunting task. Several hospitals are now working with popular hotels to cater to patients with mild symptoms. While the rooms in the hotels are used for patients, the hospital will provide patients with the necessary medical care. The food and nutritional needs of the patient are taken into account by the hotel.
While the live dashboard set up by the government often shows that beds are available in the hospitals, they often deny bed availability when you contact the hospital. This makes it a tedious process to find a bed for someone who tests positive for the virus. As hospitals partner with hotels, there are now more than 1,000 beds available for COVID-19 patients across Hyderabad. This facility is useful for those who want to stay away from their family while recovering from COVID-19.
Patients must contact the hospital in question to access this facility. A preliminary screening test is done at the hospital to determine if a patient is asymptomatic or has mild symptoms. People with lower oxygen saturation and severe symptoms are hospitalized. Only those without symptoms or mild symptoms are allowed into the hotels.
All hospitals provide patients with three meals a day and a doctor and nurse are available for whatever is needed. Depending on the hotel, some offer oxygen concentrators, others a video consultation with the doctor.
