KNOX COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) – A love of tourism and the place she grew up in inspired Knox County’s Paige Cobb to purchase the North Main Building in downtown Barbourville, built in 1890.

“I moved home because there is really no place like home. The hospitality here and just the people are so nice, ”she said. “It has been my dream since retiring to run a business. I always imagined that I would have an event space on the square. “

Cobb, now called The 101 on North Main, says a quote inspired her.

“Her biggest piece of advice to savers is, this is not the food, but every kind of moment in life, the good and the bad, just save it so you can look at it later and know if you are.” go by and when you are on the mountain top it will humiliate you, ”she said.

The space is designed to be a welcoming space and will host a variety of traditional events as well as events created by Cobb.

“We’re doing Christmas in July so we’re going to do a live wreath making class, in August we’re going to do a pop-up selfie museum, and in September we’re going to do escape rooms I’m really excited,” she said.

Also includes food.

“Pecan and chicken salad, Hawaiian club sandwiches, chicken and bacon ranch panini, just grab a bit and go there. Hershey Bar Cakes are always on offer and we will have brunch on Saturday, ”she said.

The building is scheduled to open on June 26th. Cobb says hours are Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
