VIENNA, Virginia (WDVM) – Madison Baseball took care of business on Friday, defeating the Chantilly Chargers 17-5 in five innings to claim the 6D Northern Region title.

“It feels great,” said Senior James Triantos. “We’re not done yet, but we can enjoy the moment now and come back straight away on Tuesday.

The Warhawks scored multiple runs in every inning they hit.

Junior Jaden Kritsky had an unforgettable night when he hit two home runs as the ninth batter in the line-up.

“One through nine, no matter where you are in the line-up, it doesn’t matter,” said Kritsky. “Everyone has the potential to make a big piece and I was that guy tonight.”

Committing sophomore and Alabama, Bryce Eldridge added a home run of his own in the 4th inning. A three-barrel explosion that went well beyond the fence into the tree line.

“We play our best baseball right now,” said head coach Mark “Pudge” Gjormand. “Earlier this year we beat teams for talent, but we really became a team.”

Madison will face the 6C Region winner in the VHSL State Semifinals on Tuesday.
