Since interstate travel is now allowed in Malaysia, tOur activities have given the green light to continue, according to the latest statement from the Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC), Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri; how shared in a statement after Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced the entire trip.

She went on to add that children under the age of 18 can travel with their parents or guardians, who must be fully vaccinated.

The prime minister’s announcement is good news that the tourism industry has been waiting for in hopes of revitalizing the local tourism, arts and cultural sectors, she said. Minister Nancy believes this move could help ensure the survival of workers in the chain of the sector affected by the pandemic.

She also expressed her hope that the introduction of international travel can help revitalize the tourism, arts and culture sectors and further develop the country’s economy.

To revitalize the tourism sector, one of the main focuses of MOTAC’s Tourism Recovery Plan was to restore tourists’ confidence in the level of safety at a travel destination.

“MOTAC will strive to ensure that the country’s tourism sector has continuous revenue and will continue to formulate more aggressive and strategic advertising campaigns to help boost the country’s tourism sector,” said Nancy.

She encouraged visitors wishing to participate in tourist activities to undergo the COVID-19 test prior to travel and to adhere to all Standard Operating Instructions (SOP) issued from time to time by the National Security Council, the Ministry of Health and the relevant government departments and agencies.
