BOSTON (WHDH) – Keolis Commuter Services and the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority are advising the public not to travel unless absolutely necessary due to the major winter storm that sets in on Monday and Tuesday.

The S-Bahn will continue to operate according to a winter schedule that you’ll find here.

Passengers planning to travel during the storm are asked to allow additional time to reach stations, exercise caution on platforms and boarding trains, and stay in touch for service updates at www.MBTA.com/winter.

“Working with MBTA, we are monitoring the storm and deploying crews across the network to minimize the impact on service and ensure that passengers who need to travel have commuter rail as an alternative to driving,” said David Scorey, CEO of Keolis and Chief Executive Officer. “We have activated our operations center in order to coordinate the use of resources and quickly resolve any problems.”

MBTA and Keolis staff will clear snow and salt passenger areas and respond to incidents that occur during the storm, such as: B. fallen trees.

Crews are also pre-positioned at key facilities and infrastructure such as switches and signals to ensure normal operations.

Switching heaters and snow jets are activated in critical areas when snow falls.
