JAIPUR: Rajasthan topped the list of states for the number of hotels and restaurants that are on the Saathi portal of the Ministry of tourism which was created to ensure compliance with Covid-compliant regulatory requirements.

More than 3000 units from Rajasthan have registered on the portal, compared with over 1311 from Uttar Pradesh, 922 from Uttarakhand and 732 from Goa. The certificates confirm the Covid readiness mechanism set up by the hotels in order not to spread the virus.
The Ministry of Tourism launched the self-certification process to raise awareness and prepare hotels, restaurants and other catering establishments to limit the transmission of Cononavirus when providing accommodation.
The regulatory requirements cover all operational areas of the hospitality and tourism units, including cleaning, housekeeping, disinfection, safety and health of employees and guests, identifying areas at risk, mitigating risks and mobilizing resources for these activities.
Nishant Jain, director of the tourism department, said, “We have made the hotels aware of the regulatory mechanisms. The hotels and restaurants also accepted the requirements at an early stage. Because of this, Rajasthan has registered maximum tourism and hospitality units. ”When the lockdown was lifted, the state was a preferred destination for many people in the National Capital Region, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh. Its resorts and hospitality units outside the city limits attracted large numbers of tourists.
Recently, the state tourism division teamed up with Incredible India, the center’s official tourism association, to promote the state’s tourist destinations. With this arrangement, the department tries to reach a large number of people. Incredible posts in India highlighting Rajasthan travel destinations in places like Banswara, Udaipur and Mount Abu.
