MSC Cruises has canceled its 2022 world cruise due to “current port unavailability” and will instead sail two global cruises in 2023, the company said in a report Press release On Wednesday.

“It would not have been possible to wear [the 2022 world cruise] because there are still too many ports with restrictions due to the pandemic, “said the company. MSC did not immediately respond to Insider’s request to explain these” restrictions “in more detail, but Ports all over the world are currently facing Congestion problems amid persistent and crippling delays in the supply chain.

To the continued demand for world travel, MSC— which is owned of the logistics and shipping group MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company – has moved its 2022 global cruise on board the MSC Magnifica to the following year. This cruise will then accompany MSC’s sold out 2023 world tour on board the MSC Poesia, which went on sale for the first time 2020.

The two global cruises on the Magnifica and Poesia will sail with different routes, the former with the same plans as the first world cruise in 2022. The ships will go on board in four European cities from January 4th to 7th. And from there the cruises are operated in different ways.

Passengers who were originally scheduled for the 2022 world cruise will primarily be booked for the new 2023 world cruise on board the Magnifica. Guests who postpone their now canceled cruise to 2023 can also book a free crossing between January 1 and May 3, 2022.
