As the Philadelphia 76ers Moving on this 2021 off-season, there are some issues they need to address. This happens when a team in the east comes into the playoffs as No. 1 and is again seeded at No. 5 in round 2 Atlanta Hawks.

One of the bigger problems is what to do with young stars Ben Simmons. The 25-year-old is a three-time all-star and a guy who has an impact on both ends of the floor, whether he’s putting his teammates on the offensive or taking out an opponent on the other end of the floor.

On the offensive, however, there still seems to be a mental block in terms of knocking down free throws and refusing to shoot any jumpers. It can hold Philadelphia back at times and it’s a reason the Sixers are starting to Accept trade talks on the young star.

That being said, there are some pretty bad potential trading targets that have been suggested or rumored since Game 7 was lost on June 20th. Here are three of the worst:

Indiana Pacers

Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

The Pacers have been tossed around as potential suitors, but there is little point in trading for Simmons as they really have a somewhat similar player in all-star Big Man Domantas Sabonis. Simmons is obviously the better player, but Sabonis does similar things for Indiana as he is similar in size, stays closer to the basket, initiates their offensive often, and is really their offensive center while he’s not a great shooter either – though he at least will try some long shots. It doesn’t make a lot of sense for Simmons to be with the Pacers.

Charlotte Hornets

Jim Dedmon-USA TODAY Sports

This was a Commercial target proposed by ESPN earlier in the offseason, but Charlotte doesn’t make much sense for the 3-time all-star. The Hornets are led by a young star in LaMelo Ball who turns out to be the guy Charlotte will continue to build around, and a potential Ball-Simmons fit doesn’t seem to work that well. Ball takes Charlotte’s offensive and he’s not a great shooter and neither is Simmons, obviously.

San Antonio spurs

Daniel Dunn-USA TODAY Sports

Spurs coach Gregg Popovich is an avid Simmons fan and he could probably find a way to help him with the next step, but his place on this list is just awkward on paper. The Spurs don’t have many marksmen in this roster and that’s what Simmons needs to be successful on offense. Here he can exert influence by getting into the color and playing on the floor for others. That was another proposed by ESPN.
