Despite one of the hottest weekends this year and the ongoing pandemic, travelers and locals flocked to downtown Palm Springs for a day of sunshine, shopping, and dining. It was only about two weeks before Riverside County entered the state’s less restrictive red tier than it had been in the most restrictive purple tier in months.

Last week, the latest reopening news was released, giving the green light to indoor concerts and theatrical performances through April 15 as coronavirus cases have dropped to a new record low across the country since the pandemic began.

The California Department of Health announced the changes on Friday.

To attend gatherings, people must be tested within 72 hours or provide evidence of full vaccination.

We’ll have a look at the busy downtown Palm Springs weekend later tonight.
