Standard International will open its first Irish hotel under the The Standard Hotels brand.

Developer Ballymore has confirmed that the group will open a 200-room hotel next to the city’s Connolly train station as part of the upcoming Dublin Arch regeneration program.

The property is expected to open in 2025, with the wider Dublin Arch development also offering residential units, office space, retail and restaurants, community clubs, artist studios and landscaped spaces.

The Standard Hotels brand was founded in 1999 and currently has seven properties in New York, LA, Miami and the Maldives as well as The Standard London, which opened in 2019 – for our review of this hotel, see:

The group also recently announced plans for their first property in Singapore, which will be located on Orange Grove Road across from the prestigious Shangri-La Singapore.

The newly built hotel with 143 rooms is scheduled to open in 2023 and will have a unique restaurant and an infinity pool with bar, “in a lush botanical courtyard”.

Commenting on the news, Ballymore Chairman and CEO Sean Mulryan:

“Our development of the Dublin Arch underscores our commitment to the north-east inner city of Dublin.

“It was an important goal to attract high-profile trading partners for this historic area and I am delighted that Standard Hotels have decided to build their first Irish hotel in Dublin Arch.”
