“After a challenging year for the industry, we couldn’t be more excited to finally announce that we will be welcoming Marella Voyager, the fifth ship in our fleet, in spring 2023 with her first crossing in June. This ship builds on our already popular fleet and offers loyal customers and new customers more choice. We know what our customers like and want to make sure we keep some of Marella Cruises’ favorites but also give Marella Voyager a different flavor, ”said Hackney.

He told Seatrade Cruise that the expansion of the all-inclusive fleet will increase Marella’s capacity by 25%.

Marella Voyager originally built as a My ship 2 which was added to the Marella fleet a few years ago is a sister of the Marella Explorer, the former Mein Schiff 1, which was added to the Marella fleet in 2018.

US travel

In a two-part announcement, Marella is launching three US travel routes as part of Marella Discovery’s summer cruises 2023 from Port Canaveral. The program was originally planned start in summer 2011.

These include an overnight stay in New York, a soaring approach south in Miami, Turks & Caicos, Key West and the Dominican Republic and a third option with an overnight stay in Tampa and calls to Nassau and Fort Lauderdale.

Hackney said the Fly Cruise product will appeal to families looking for either a week-long cruise and a week-long stay in either Orlando’s theme park district or relaxation on Florida’s east coast, or those looking for two 14-day cruises in a row. Marella offers a choice of 18 hotels for clients who want the best of both worlds.

‘To be able to set sail for the US next year is another milestone for us. The excitement for cruising is really back and we look forward to continuing to bring new experiences to our customers, ‘added Hackney.
